Argggh! Now I gotta get out a stool and put the stupid curtain rod back together only then information technology can fall apart again side by side time.
Yes, I already tried to tighten the screws on the bracket to agree the rod in place. I am e'er asking Xaver to check the rods to see what is wrong. I thought about Krazy Gum… only what if I desire to motion the rod? The rod slides out of the brackets on the side and the screws that are supposed to continue the rod in place autumn out, get stripped, or just don't seem up to the task. And so the curtain rod slides out the side, the middle comes apart, the pall falls off. All I wanted was to open the window?!?! And if I inquire Matthew to open the defunction – well, I unremarkably come back to find the rod hanging there and the drape console in a pile on the floor.
I only kind of lived with this, dragging out that footstep stool every coulpe days to fix the curtain rod YET Once again. And information technology wasn't isolated to just one rod or one brand – all of my defunction seemed to have this outcome at 1 point or some other. I seriously considered mini blinds again…
Then ane day, it hitting me.
Prophylactic bands! If I put a rubber band on the rod, between the middle of the rod and the bracket, when I slide the curtain open up, the rubberband would catch on the bracket and stop the rod from moving outwards any more. That is what the problem was – the rod slide outwards on either side when I slide the curtain to open them. The rod would split up in the centre and then everything would fall autonomously.
Merely where can you lot notice black rubber bands? I looked in my office supplies drawer — only pink and bluish rubber bands with a few thick green broccoli rubber bands. That is a No-Go for cure! I look online and all the websites I constitute wanted to sell me HUGE packs of all blackness rubber bands for alot of money and a big shipping charge. And who needs 5o00 black rubber bands? I merely needed a few… I needed a quick, cheap, practical solution…
Enter the Rainbow Loom!
I found these beauties on Amazon and knew they would be perfect. The kids wanted a Rainbow Loom anyways so I could justify buying the multi-color pack because the value was and then bully …
You can find the bands in blackness, silver, brownish, or whatsoever colour you demand to match your curtain rod. I merely got a multi-pack to be on the safe side since I have curtain rods in black, copper, dark-brown, and silver.
Here's what to practise:
1. Take the rod off the brackets.
ii. Thread the rainbow loom band onto the rod, doubling it if you accept to, depending on the diameter (thickness) of the curtain rod.
3. Insert the rod back into the subclass. Make sure the subclass is between the condom-band and the finial finish of the rod).
4. Once you lot similar where everything is positioned, put the curtain dorsum on the rod and hang.
I take these curtains on two windows in my dining room – I did this rubber band handling to 1 and the rod is exactly where I placed it a calendar week agone. The other pall looks kind of like the one in my showtime photograph – the rod is CRAZY looking! I'g getting out the step stool to put rubber-bands on that curtain rod TODAY!
I hope this helps you solve a curtain dilemma in your home ;)
